Our 1st "Minnesota Winter"

All I have heard about since David and I found out that we were moving here was the terrible, cold Minnesota winters.  All I can say so far, is I am SOOO glad that we have not had a true Minnesota winter thus far...I know we still have some time, crazier things have happened.

So Christmas happened and we had a great time spending time with both of our families.  Since we got back from Christmas I have been taking Knitting Classes (a Christmas present from David).  I go on Monday nights to a yarn store called The Yarnery on Grand Ave. I've been working on a pair of mittens in class, and I am so glad that I've been taking the classes.  I pretty much knit whenever I get the chance now.

David has been traveling a lot the past few weeks, and I have been filling my weekends with activities with my Life Group friends.  We went to a Timberwolves game in downtown Minneapolis Then Saturday night I went with Rani to a youth group event.  We went to eat at Cosetta's, and then we went ice skating.   Rani took some pictures for me and emailed them to me...Thanks Rani!

Two weekends ago, David's Aunt Sandy came up here for the weekend.  We ate some yummy food and went shopping at the Mall (of America) on Saturday while David had a Cantus event.  We then went to downtown St. Paul to do some ice skating.  It was Sandy's first time to ever ice skate, so she held on to David or the wall the entire time.  She did a great job though.  We had a lot of fun with Sandy, and the weather cooperated for us.

This weekend my mom came up here because I had Friday off and David was out of town.  So I picked her up at the airport on Friday and we went to the Global Market and grabbed some lunch.  Then we went to the Haberdashery in St. Paul, The Yarnery, and Anthropologie.  Mom was excited about going to the Yarnery because she used to knit a long time ago, and my recent interest in it has made her want to do it again.  So we went and got some yarn and needles for Mom to make a scarf out of this weekend.  Friday night we ate dinner on Grand and then came home and began knitting while watching season 2 of Downton Abbey.  We ate lunch at a sandwich place called Cheeky Monkey on Saturday and went across the street to a florist that I like to get some plants for our apartment. Then we went to the Mall (of America) and shopped for a little bit and ate dinner at Dixie's on Grand....and I ordered sweet tea and it was AMAZING!  Mom and I came home after dinner and began knitting again.  We skyped with David for a little bit and I hired my interior designer mother to help me place my new plants and change a couple of things in the apartment.  I can't wait for David to see the plants!

That's what's been going on up here in case you were wondering.  It was pretty cold this weekend but when the sun is out it's bearable.  Hope y'all are doing well.

p.s. I'll post pictures of my finished knitting projects as they come.
